Bletchley ParkAbsolutely fascinating place to visit if you have any interest in code-breaking, computers or World War II.
The story of how the Enigma code was broken is absorbing and there is hardware galore to drool over if you like that
sort of thing.
The Colossus was the world's first programmable computer used to crack codes in the later stages of the war. A working replica has been built using parts from the time. Bletchley also houses a computer museum which shows just how primitive but ingenious computers of the 1950s and 1960s were. |map| |next attraction| Bletchley Park Website Codes and Cyphers Colossus at Bletchley |
