Buckler's Hard

Buckler's Hard - so called because here the gravel extended to the river's edge - is where great oak ships were once built for the Royal Navy. The museum explains how they were built and also has a reconstruction of the 18th century New Inn and a labourer's cottage. |more things to do|

Buckler's Hard Beaulieu

Stroll down to the water's edge, maybe stopping off in the shipyard boss's house - now a pub. There's a 30 minute river cruise and for the energetic a 30 minute riverside walk to Beaulieu. |map| |nearby attraction|
