Poldark MineThe main attraction is the undergrond mine tour which takes about an hour and gives a great insight into what
it was really like to be a Cornish tin miner. If you want to visit the site but not do the mine tour there's a
reduced entry charge. The museum tells of steam pioneers Newcomen, Trevithick and others.
Poldark Mine boasts the only Cornish beam engine still pumping water from a mine, though steam enthusiasts will be disappointed that it's now powered by compressed air. There's a gem search and gold panning (but it's shop gold as at Treasure Park). The shooting gallery is fun. The cafe is not the best. |map| |nearby attraction| |
