TrericeTrerice is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, was upgraded to a fine Elizabethan Manor house in 1573 and
was finally restored to its current condition by the
National Trust
in the 1950s. It's much smaller than nearby
Lanhydrock
but well worth a visit.
The barn cafe is delightful - and reasonably priced - and there are tables out on the lawn. The lawnmower museum that used to be here has moved to Trevarno Gardens and been replaced by brass rubbing. Trerice is a peaceful, quiet place to spend a couple of hours. |map| |nearby attraction| |
